- January 1, 2010 - January 29, 2010: Applications for the Wharton Alumni Business Plan Competition are being accepted. Business plans and executive summaries are not due until February 22. All early-stage ventures with at least one graduated Wharton alum are eligible to apply. Details for the $125 app fee will be sent out after app submission. Also find us on Gary's Guide.

We need volunteers with & without programming skills! Everyone welcome. RSVP and Spread the Word!! http://www.eventbrite.com/event/543649069 Crisis Camp Haiti NYC will join together with technology volunteers in three countries and 10 cities to provide local opportunities for citizens to assist in crisis mapping, data management, and RSS feed aggregation. People with specialized skills such as translation, computer programing and literacy advocates are encouraged to participate. Crisis Camp is a open, collaborative event held in “barcamp” style to provide local and international responders, Haitian community leaders and non-governmental organizations an opportunity to engage with operations on the ground in Haiti. Tools and resources created by Crisis Camp volunteers can enhance responders' decision-making capability, transparency and collaboration. This event open to the public. You don't have to be technical to volunteer time. We request that you bring a laptop, your creativity and a power strip with you (to share with others).

new initiative puts startups in front of venture technologists in the
same way they pitch to venture capitalists.
Everyone is invited to join us to network with IT and startup
professionals. These events are free but RSVP is required.

- 5/30/09 - 5/31/09 barcampNYC4 at ITP@NYU. BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from attendees. The event doesn't cost any money, but there is a price: all attendees must give a demo, a session, or help with one. Anyone with something to contribute or with the desire to learn are welcome and invited to join. When you come, be prepared to share with barcampers. When you leave, be prepared to share it with the world.
